Wandering Time

Wandering Time

The “Wandering Time” is an artistic exploration of the phenomenon of time in the form of a sculptural installation. The project itself is divided into the traditional three-phase model of time: Past – Present – Future, whereby it goes beyond these familiar concepts to express forms of time such as repetition, eternal recurrence, event, occasion, short circuit, etc.

Artworks

Ontology of Emptiness (2023), steel, construction foam, lime pigment, wax, lighting

The hemispherical shape of the apse, with its hollow interior, creates a three-dimensional shadow – a second hemisphere, through the light source from above. The apse expresses the blind interior of the past, the compressed contingent that can emerge from the shadow zone at any moment and become reality.

Zone (2023), yellow sand, 600 x 500 x 25 cm

Occupying the central space of the project and expressing the current time, the semi-flat square form made of golden sand creates an associative virtual cube, real space and time. The installation expresses a conditional space that can change or even disappear every second. The sand object will understand the interaction in itself, it will disintegrate and disappear from the audience, willy-nilly, leaving only a trace of movement on the floor.

Free Fall (2023), styrofoam, unpainted, 700 x 200 cm, each figure is 160 cm

The sculptural group represents the trajectory of a somersault, several phases of a jump from one point to another. As a result of the light source, each figure creates its own shadow, which in turn creates a circular form of attraction and repulsion. The temporal form of a jump is central to this part of the project. As we know, even evolution is a model of leap development. Without this leap, the future cannot be formed and time goes into a constant mode of repetition. A leap from nothing to something, from disbelief to belief, a leap from the old to the new reality.

Point (2023), wood, 300 x 300 x 400 cm

Butterflies (2023), concrete, pigment colour, each 90 x 60 x 60 cm
